United Methodist Summer Camps

UMC Summer Camps are just around the corner! There's something for everyone -- children, teens, adults & families. Pick up a 2018 Camp Brochure at one of our communication centers to learn more about what's available at all six Oregon / Idaho camp sites and retreat centers -- or visit GoCamping. If you are in need of financial assistance, contact the church office to apply for a 'Campership'.

Spring Care Baskets

The Care & Nurture Team will be assembling approximately 30 baskets on Saturday, May 5, for delivery to our homebound members and others in need. They will be delivered on Sunday, May 6.

Donations from the congregation are greatly appreciated. We ask that you please consider donating any of the following items to be included in the baskets:

  • baked goods
  • fresh fruit
  • large print activity books (crossword or word search)
  • "fun size" candy bars
  • granola bars
  • tea bags
  • packaged drink mix
  • travel size soaps and lotions
  • small tissue packages
  • playing cards
  • pens & pencils

Please bring your donations to the church office by Thursday, May 3 or arrange to have them picked up by contacting Susanne Harmony.

Give & Take Produce Table

Our give & take produce table is available in Fellowship Hall following worship every week during growing season. Bring your extra "garden goodies" for others to buy. All proceeds will be donated to the FISH Food Program.

Search for New Hidden Blessings

We are deeply grateful for your donations to the Hidden Blessings ministry of Newman Church: underwear and socks!

As was reported earlier, all previous donations have been distributed to the Christian Service Network (CSN), the Maslow Project, Joe's Place, and Hearts with a Mission -- organizations that regularly work with the needy. The donations have been joyously received by the groups, yet there are three categories of recipients that appear to have been overlooked: boys, girls, and small women. The next time you're out shopping, if you could pick up a package of underwear for one or more of these categories, there would be even more joy!

Thank you again for your generosity!

Fish Food Program Needs Help

Do you have time to help our community? Would you like to volunteer a few hours each week or month? FISH is a wonderful program run out of our church to feed people in need.

We are looking for volunteers to help during the food bank operations on Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 2-5, as well as people to help load the refrigerators and freezers on Tuesday and Thursday mornings!

If you think you could give some time to FISH, please contact Pat Bath or Marian Burns. It's a wonderful way to contribute!

Also the following toiletries and household items are always appreciated:

  • toothpaste
  • toothbrushes
  • razors
  • shampoo (full-size bottles)
  • dish soap
  • laundry detergent (dry)
